I want to get to know different people and get out of a rut. I have spent years bringing my children up and now that they have lives of their own, I would like to do the "grown up" things and find that someone special that we all need in our lives. I am not afraid of my own company but there are also times when I get really lonely and would love to have someone to share life with. I love nature, birds and get to the bush whenever I can. I am equally at home at an International Reception as I am out in Nature. I love watching sport (Rugby, Soccer, Cricket, Motor Racing, Baseball etc.). This is what comes from having sons! There is also a softer, gentle side (I have a daughter too!).I can cook but must admit that I definitely do not spend most of my time in the kitchen! Life is too short to stuff a mushroom or peel a pea!
Love music, reading, walking and consider myself to be open to new experiences and quite spontaneous. (love surprises and being surprised). I also consider laughter to be a very important ingredient in life along with kindness and integrity and my faith, all of which go into making me who and what I am. I have a wicked sense of humour and there are few things I love more than a glass of good red wine around a blazing fire in the bush. (Sunset or Sunrise on the beach is also good) I also have times when quietness is a must and it would be wonderful to find someone to share all of these experiences with. My friends and family are a very important part of my life and friendship and relationships have to be nurtured and worked on for them to grow. Nothing worthwhile is ever finished, just a work-in-progress.
Am at the stage of my life when I really would love to have someone special in it because I WANT him there, not because I NEED him there.

I would obviously like to meet someone with similar interests to mine. (Then again, some different ones would probably add spice). Someone with a good sense of humour, kindness and integrity and who feels that life is for living to the full. Someone who is comfortable in his own skin and isn't still trying to "find himself". (If you haven't discovered that truth yet at our age, you never will!) Just someone to laugh with and to enjoy different experiences with and also the quiet times in life that are so necessary to "re-charge the batteries".
