About Him
I'm into my fourth act. When my third act (a la Jane Fonda) started 12 years ago, three important things happened more or less simultaneously: My wife died after 23 happy years together, I retired from my IT job and I left the church, becoming "spiritual but not religious". My kids were still at home, studying, so I became the sole homemaker. I started Maths tutoring, resumed playing tennis, joined a gym, bought a bike and motorbike, both of which I still ride.
My kids have since qualified and left home to start their careers. Our housemaid died after some 20 years service. The gardener who was with us just as long decided to retire. The family dog died. After 10 years Maths tutoring didn't offer much excitement any more. It was time to figure out what should be in my fourth act.
My mind and body are both still in good shape. I will keep on jogging and cycling indefinitely. Maybe you and I will play tennis. I also go to gym regularly. I am now researching and writing about what I consider society's most pressing problems, being (1) climate change (2) a new economy (3) religious myth and intolerance (4) better education for the upcoming generations. There's enough to do to keep me going for another 30 years. It is my intention to remain active for that long. Modern medical science will, I think, enable me to accomplish this. I sold my house in 2011 and moved to a home for the elderly. The place struck me as a bicycle that is not moving, ie it is going to fall down. I am starting a few initiatives to get it moving again. Covid has considerably curtailed my social life. To enrich it a little bit I joined a naturist club, which organises get togethers of diverse kinds.
About His Ideal Match
A lady who is physically and mentally fit and active. Not necessarily interested in my focus areas, although that will help. Like me she needs to be liberal and openminded, prepared for a life that is often unfettered by traditional conventions that have become obsolete. I love classical music. Preferably you should too, though not ignoring the tons of good music in other genres. If you are prepared to join me at naturist events that would be a bonus.
